Rev. Andrea Lomboy, President of the Congregational Health ReSource, is Appointed to the Virginia Stroke Systems Task Force
In 2007, the Joint Commission on Health Care (JCHC) -- a Virginia legislative commission-- conducted a study in efforts to develop strategies to improve stroke prevention and care across the Commonwealth. The JCHC staff convened a cross-sectional expert working group to conduct the study. This group made a number of recommendations to the JCHC which included the need for a state level Virginia Stroke Systems Task Force. The JCHC accepted the recommendations and officially requested that a Task Force be established under the Virginia Department of Health.
In September 2008, 28 Task Force members were officially appointed. Reverend Lomboy was elected to serve as a Community Educator and also serves on the Web Site Development Team for the task force. The VSSTF is a subset of the larger VSS collaborative and represents a diverse range of stakeholders. See a complete list of members and their bio-sketches.
The inaugural meeting of the VSSTF was held on September 19, 2008, in Richmond, Virginia.

Identify local health, civic, education and government leaders who would be willing to be a resource to the congregations in their community, promote health programs, and initiate/sponsor congregational-based programs.
The findings of these results will be posted on their Web site at the conclusion of the study.
