- Bath Community Hospital has invited Rev. Andrea Lomboy to speak at the Bath Community Hospital Annual Health Fair - 2010. She will present, "Congregational health Initiative, Bath County, The Executive Summary & Educating Local Congregations About Stroke," Reperfusion Roadshow 2010." The presentation provides an overview of the findings for the pilot study conducted on behalf of the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Health & Health Equity, October 2010
- The American Cancer Society (ACS) selected the Congregational Health ReSource (CHR) to participate in the "Bridges: Cancer Education and Screening" Community Health Workers training. As a result, CHR will now be able to collaborate with ACS in reaching people with important cancer education and promoting life-saving screenings. August 2010
- Rev. Andrea Lomboy was invited by the National Organizations of the State Offices of Rural Health to present the following update to the congregational health initiatives pilot featured in the Commonwealth: "Community Engagement Models: A Broad-brush Rural Congregational Health Initiative" in Williamsburg, VA. August 2010
- Rev. Andrea Lomboy received a Certificate of Completion to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's Center for Faith-Based & Neighborhood Partnerships Organizational Development and Grantwriting training. June 2010
- The Congregational Health ReSource received final notification of the approval for use for the petitioned registered servicemark for "HealtheCongregations" through the US Patent and Trademark Office. June 2010
- The Congregational Health ReSource completes the congregational health assessments in four counties (Bath, Essex, Shenandoah and Page). - Changing Times, Changing Strategies, Working Together to Strengthen the Safety Net was the theme of the Virginia Rural Health Association and the Virginia Free Clinics joint conference. Rev. Andrea Lomboy was asked to present "Churches as Primary Community Health Partners" in the Advocacy and Community Outreach portion of the conference. November 2009
- Rev. Andrea Lomboy and Dr. Nina Solenski present at the Virginia United Methodist Council, Seminar for Science, Technology and Ethics, "A "VAST" Opportunity for Providing Telerobotic Healthcare in Rural Communities." October 09
- Rev. Andrea Lomboy was invited to participate in the ongoing 1st District Congressional Pastor's Advisory Council meetings for Representative Rob Wittman. August 2009
- The Congregational Health ReSource was invited by the Honorable Mayor Euille (Alexandria, VA) to participate on on the Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria Action Communities for Health, Innovation, and Environmental Change Team (ACHIEVE) Planning Team, Healthy Lifestyles Work Group. The Focus of this group is to encourage healthy eating and active living by raising awareness building education, and making policy and environmental changes. May 2009
- Rev. Andrea Lomboy, President of the Congregational Health ReSource, has been nominated and appointed to the Virginia Stroke Systems Task Force (VSSTF). The VSSTF was formed by request of the Joint Commission on Health Care that the Virginia Department of Health convene a standing Stroke Systems Task Force to address improvements in the Virginia's stroke systems of care. Rev. Lomboy currently serves as a Community Educator, and as the VSSTF Web Manager. September 2008
