The Congregational Health ReSource, LLC (CHR) is a Judeo-Christian company devoted to improving health awareness from the perspective of “‘body, soul (mind, will, and emotions), and spirit.” CHR serves as a bridge between the health care and faith-based communities to 1) advance the Biblical approach to health, 2) increase awareness of prevention and treatment options, and 3) provide a dynamic clearinghouse of information (Internet-based, print materials, and presentations) for both communities to exchange information and integrate the secular and spiritual perspective to health and wholeness.
The first part of our name, “Congregational Health,” has a twofold meaning, encompassing the health and welfare of both the congregants and the Body of Christ and its members, including their knowledge, spiritual maturity, and their collective interactions—with each other, with their leaders, and with noncongregational members and those of differing faiths. The second part of our name, ReSource, also has a dual meaning. We are committed to being a central resource for congregants and health care providers, as well as reawakening relationships with the Source of all healing, Jesus Christ.
CHR will create a forum for health care professionals to disseminate information to the faith community and for the faith community to access resources for better care and prevention, from free physicals and flu shots to wellness workshops. On our Web site (www.faithbasedhealth.com) we will provide links to major health care agencies offering health resources and provide articles that explore health issues, from diabetes to addiction, from the perspective of a health care professional along with the counter-perspective of a member of the faith community. We will also be available for consultation to individual congregations to help them address the health issues of greatest concern to their community. Our goal is to connect the health and faith arenas so that together, we may learn, grow, and be a source of healing to each other.
From church leadership to individual church members, the potential is great to share knowledge about health care and direct congregations to the most appropriate channels for accessing information on health issues. As church members access medical resources more efficiently, and at the same time, deepen their understanding of health and healing through a Biblical approach, we can help reduce disease, promote wellness, and curtail the high cost of care. Bringing together the promise of medicine with the power of faith lessens the gap between the secular and the sacred, increasing synergies and infusing the potential to build healthier communities.
Faith, hope, and love coupled with wisdom assists the believer in achieving health harmony in the soul (mind, will, and emotions) and spirit. Strengthen your inner man's soul and spirit by the associated articles, resources, and inspiration in our faith section. May the Lord prosper you with whole health.
