Dr. Roylon Dick is an Ordained Minister, Licensed Professional Counselor, and a school-based administrator. He has over twenty-three years of counseling experience. He has been active in Christian ministry since his first year in seminary in 1978. Over these twenty-eight years, he served in the following areas: Sunday school teacher, Bible Study teacher, Assistant Pastor, Preacher, Bible College Instructor and Seminar/Conference speaker. He has been given the opportunity to preach and conduct seminars in London, Anguilla, Jamaica, Guyana, Belize, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, St. Martin/St .Maarten and various cities in the USA.
Dr. Dick is the President and Founder of the Northern Virginia Bible Institute (NVBI), established in 1997. NVBI is a full member of the Evangelical Training Association, www.etaworld.org . In addition, he is the Director of Counseling and Educational Ministries for International Mission Support Foundation, INC. Dr. Dick is the former Academic Dean of Ebenezer Bible Institute, Riverdale, MD.
Dr. Dick’s experience as an educator is very extensive. He taught at the seminary, four-year College, community college, and secondary school levels. He supervises master’s level interns and externs in school and agency counseling. He has supervised students from VA Tech, George Mason University, The George Washington University, Bowie State University, The Johns Hopkins University, and Marymount University.
In 1998 and 2000, he was named “Who is Who Among America’s Teachers.” In 2001, he was one of three educators on a one-hour panel discussion on Gender Issues in Education, on the Voice of America Radio program “Caribbean Perspective” which was aired on radio stations in the Caribbean and Guyana. He also participated on Television panels dealing with educational issues for Fairfax County Public Schools and CARIBNATION, Washington, DC. He was acknowledged by U.S. News and World Report for professional contribution to their CD-ROM –“Getting into College”. In addition, he was the former chairman of the Parent Advisory Council Committee of the College Partnership Program for Fairfax County Public Schools.
He has a Bachelor of Theology from Jamaica Theological Seminary; a Bachelor of Psychology (cum laude), from Bethel College, IN, a Master’s in Counselor Education, from University of Cincinnati, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies, from Virginia Tech and the Doctor of Divinity from Logos University.
He is married to Susana Dick, a Registered Nurse. They have two sons.
