Dr. Roylon Dick
The Rev. Dr. Roylon Dick is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a retired school administrator. He has over 25 years of counseling experience and has been active in Christian ministry since his first year in seminary in 1978. Over the past 33 years, Roylon has served as pastor, seminary/college instructor, seminar facilitator, and conference speaker. A gifted Bible teacher, he also has extensive international experience preaching and teaching in London, Canada, Anguilla, Antigua, Jamaica, Guyana, Belize, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, St. Martin/St. Maarten and various cities in the USA.
Dr. Dick is founder and President Emeritus of Northern Virginia Bible Institute (NVBI), which was established in 1997 as a full member of the Evangelical Training Association. Roylon is also the former Academic Dean of Ebenezer Bible Institute in Riverdale (Maryland) and currently serves as the Director of Counseling and Educational Ministries for International Mission Support Foundation, Inc. Dr. Dick sits on the advisory board of the Congregational Health Resource, LLC, based in Northern Virginia. In addition, he previously served as chairman of the Parent Advisory Council Committee of the College Partnership Program for Fairfax County Public Schools.
As an educator, Dr. Dick possesses extensive teaching experience. He has taught at the seminary, four-year college, community college, and secondary school levels (including his tenure at Munro College and Belair High School in Jamaica). He has supervised master’s level interns and externs in school- and agency-counseling programs. He has supervised students from Virginia Tech, George Mason University, George Washington University, Bowie State University, Johns Hopkins University and Marymount University.
He was twice named to the “Who is Who among America’s Teachers” 1998 and 2000. In 2001, he was one of three educators on a one-hour panel discussion on Gender Issues in Education on the Voice of America Radio program “Caribbean Perspective” which was aired on radio stations in the Caribbean and Guyana. He also participated on Television panels dealing with educational issues for Fairfax County Public Schools and CARIBNATION (Washington, DC). He was acknowledged by U.S. News and World Report for professional contribution to their CD-ROM entitled “Getting into College”.
He has a Bachelor of Theology from Jamaica Theological Seminary; a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) Psychology, from Bethel College, Indiana, a Master’s in Counselor Education, from University of Cincinnati, Ohio, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Student Personnel Services, from Virginia Tech and the Doctor of Divinity from Logos University, Jacksonville, Florida.
He is married to Susana Dick, a Registered Nurse. They have two sons.
