Reverend Andrea C. Lomboy, CEO

Rev. Andrea Lomboy has over 15 years of diverse leadership and management experience in the healthcare industry. Her professional experience ranges from hands-on clinical and research programs to healthcare policy, healthcare consulting, and most recently, the emerging field of congregational health. A credentialed, licensed minister and chaplain, she is the founder and president of Congregational Health ReSource, LLC (CHR), a woman- and veteran-owned, Virginia-based small business.  CHR is dedicated to uniting the best practices of public health and faith-based principles to increase access to community health resources and expand service delivery to rural communities.

Through extensive research and investigation, Rev. Lomboy is developing a church-centric model focused on increasing health awareness and strengthening collaborations between the faith-based and medical communities.  The model focuses on the first two stages in the continuum of care, prevention/awareness and education—with the ultimate goal of improving the health of congregations and increasing their reach through collaborations and partnerships outside the faith community.

Recently, Rev. Lomboy’s company has partnered with the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Minority Health and Public Health Policy, to develop five pilot surveys and assessment tools that identify distinct health needs in faith communities and match them with community health resources.  As a result of her efforts, she was appointed by the State Health Commissioner, through the Virginia Department of Health, to serve for a two-year term as a Community Educator with the Virginia Stroke System Task Force.  CHR has also partnered with leaders in health, technology and education to develop a unique and innovative model for community outreach focused on addressing specific health needs for congregations and communities.

Rev. Lomboy has worked in a variety of healthcare venues, including an academic medical center, a military hospital, and a range of inpatient and outpatient clinics.  Concurrently, she has also worked in a clinical research trial for the Veteran’s Administration.  For eight years, she held progressively responsible positions with a leading global healthcare consulting firm before starting her own consulting firm, with clients ranging from the Air Force Surgeon General’s Office to the Virginia Department of Health, the Virginia Telehealth Network, and TeleHealth Strategies, LLC. Her healthcare experience is complemented by 15 years of service as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman Reservist.

Rev. Lomboy holds a Bachelor of Religious Arts from Logos Christian College, an Associate of Arts from Santa Fe Community College, and certification as an Evangelical Training Association Approved Teacher Advancing High Standards of Church Ministries.  Highly skilled in information technology, she has received over 30 certifications in a variety of software design, development, and database applications.  She is a member of the American Telemedicine Association, Virginia Rural Health Association, and the Council for Rural Virginia, as well as an active Ambassador for the American Heart Association.

Throughout her career, Rev. Lomboy has demonstrated her commitment to bridging healthcare gaps and reducing service disparities. Through her capable leadership, range of healthcare experience, and abiding vision for congregational health, she is uniquely qualified to respond to the health needs of disparate groups from both a secular and a faith-based point of view.  Her global perspective has been seasoned by several missionary trips to Asia and to the Caribbean—deepening her ability to minister to Virginia’s many diverse communities.
